Zaporizhstal has completed half of all the works at the blast furnace No. 3 reconstruction.
“The equator has been passed. All the disassembly has been finished, the foundation is ready. We have already assembled the first block of the new BF weighing 240 tons. With just one sweep of the crane!” the company CEO Rostislav Shurma wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him, the new blast furnace will be constructed in 2 months. The company still has to assemble over 5 thousand tons of metal structures.
The blast furnace No. 3 was stopped in November 2016 for a massive overhaul that was expected to last for 150 days. To increase the speed of reconstruction Zaporizhstal is using Mammoet crane with the lifting capacity of 1600 tons. Investments in the project total 1.5 billion UAH. (Ukrainian metal)
