PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih continues educating children of company’s employees in English and IT-technologies at specialized schools “SmartStart English with ArcelorMittal” and “SmartStart IT with ArcelorMittal”. From January 13 till February 3, PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih opens the application submission from company’s employees who want their children to study English or computer sciences.
In the selection process the following criteria will be taken into consideration:
The level of parents’ salary – the advantage will be given to employees with lower level of average salary among those who submit the applications;
Entry or basic level of child’s knowledge (for English language school);
The results of tests, during which the level of child’s abilities to the exact sciences will be revealed (for IT-school);
The priority right for enrolling to schools will be given to the handicapped children; the children of company’s employees, who are handicapped; the children of employees who died in ATO zone.
Andrzej Wypych, Director of HR department of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih: “For the second year in a row we continue this social project – there are two schools for children of the company’s employees based on ArcelorMittal University in Ukraine. In one of them they can study English language for free and in the other – perceive computer technologies and practice the knowledge participating in real projects. At summary of educational results in 2016 the participants of “SmartStart IT with ArcelorMittal” have presented the real results of their work – creative websites, filled with innovational technologies, 3D modeling, computer animation, multimedia presentations in English. The acquired knowledge will help kids create interesting projects and get higher grades in school. The management of the company ensured the launch of the following semesters in schools for children, therefore in 2017 ArcelorMittal University will be opened for both continuation study and for new pupils giving children an opportunity to get knowledge and create new and unique projects to transform future”.
In 2016 academic year “SmartStart IT with ArcelorMittal” educated 377 children at the age from 9 to 16 years. Due to selection results the children were divided into three categories: junior (9-11 years old), secondary (12-14 y. o.) and senior (15-16 y. o.) groups. The educational program in “SmartStart IT with ArcelorMittal” is specially adopted for each age group of children. During two years of “SmartStart IT with ArcelorMittal” school operation almost 700 children of employees have got an opportunity to get acquainted with IT technologies and expand their knowledge in it for free.
In 2016, 671 children of company’s employees studied English, and during two years of school operation more than one thousand kids were educated here. The mastery of English, the international language, gives kids a possibility to easily receive the information about world cultural and scientific achievements, to study abroad and to have a chance in future to make career in international companies. All pupils are divided into compact groups in the age range of 6-7, 8-10, 11-13, 14-16 years. Each group consists of 10-12 kids, which allows performing education in more effective way than in usual school class.
