Coal stocks in the warehouses of thermal power plants (TPP) of Ukraine from December 25, 2016 till January 2, 2017 increased by 3%, from 1.7 million tons to 1.751 million tons, Ukrenergo has reported.

In particular, anthracite coal stocks grew by 1.6%, to 891,000 tons (including 128,000 tons at Luhansk TPP), while gas coal and long-flame coal stocks were up by 4.5%, to 860,000 tons (including 113,000 tons at Burshtyn TPP).

Ukrenergo said energy consumption in the morning of January 3, was 20.002 GW, while 31 coal power units at the TPPs generated 5.487 GW. Nuclear power plants (NPPs) showed a capacity of 10.749 GW, hydroelectric power plants 1.293 GW, combined heat and power plants 2.265 MW and alternative energy units 208 MW.
