In January-November the shortage of scrap in Ukraine reached 582 thousand tons.

During 11 months Ukrainian metal companies received 2.9 million tons of scrap, with their need at 3.5 million tons.

The main reason for the shortage is the record low scrap procurement – 3.1 million tons, down by 22% YoY, and by 36.3% than in 2014.

This year for the first time in the past 20 years Ukraine procured less scrap than it needed. (Ukrainian metal)
