In 2012-2016 Zaporizhstal invested over 5.6 billion UAH into the environment modernization, with 1.7 billion UAH invested in 2016.
According to the company CEO Rostislav Shurma, among the major ecological projects is the blast furnace No. 4 modernization with the casting yard exsufflation system, construction of the new pickling line in the cold-rolling shop No. 1, as well as the reconstruction of blast furnace No. 3.
Since 2013 Zaporizhstal has built 6 gas-purifying machines at sintering machines, with two of them already operating. The last gas-purifying machine was assembled in November. Thanks to the sintering factory modernization, pollution will decrease 3-fold. (Ukrainian metal)
