ArcelorMittal Temirtau has completed the capital repairs of its blast furnace No. 4.
The volume of the new furnace increased from 3200 cubic meters to 3400 cubic meters. And the first pig iron has already been produced. The furnace will reach its project capacity in 2 weeks.
“This will allow us to increase pig iron manufacture to 14 thousand tons per day”, the company said in its statement.
AMT has repaired 3 out of 4 blast furnaces.
BF No. 2 was repaired in 2012, and the newly reconstructed BF3 produced its first pig iron in February 2015. (Ukrainian metal)
