In January-September Russian Copper Company produced 127.6 thousand tons of copper cathodes, up from 103.7 thousand tons YoY, and 115.8 thousand tons of copper concentrate (up from 111.9 thousand tons).
Precious metals output went up as well: 2221 kg of gold ingots against 2049 kg and 53189 kg of silver ingots against 46607 kg.
According to RMK finances vice-president Maxim Schibrik, the rise was the result of the increase in manufacturing capacities of cathodes because of the increase in concentrate processing.
This year the company has completely switched to producing copper from its own raw materials. In 2004 RMK used scrap to produce some 70-80% of its cathodes, now it uses only 20-30%. (Ukrainian metal)
