Azovstal has been actively developing its first stage for the pulverized coal injection system in the blast furnace No. 4, which will allow the company to stop using natural gas and decrease pig iron prime cost by $20 per ton.
According to the company CEO Enver Tskitishvili, all the necessary equipment will be supplied by November 20.
All the equipment will be produced by Kuttner (Germany).
The pulverized coal will be produced at the Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works and transported to Azovstal via railroad. (Ukrainian metal)
