Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works has finished repairing its sintering machine No. 4.
The overhaul started on July 15. In addition to the repairs the sintering machine also received the new gas-purifying system. At present the sintering machine undergoes the commissioning work.
Mariupol Ilyich is one of Ukraine’s largest metal companies. It produces pipes and flat rolled metal of carbon, low-alloy and alloyed steels. The works is capable of producing 12 million tons of sinter, over 4.3 million tons of pig iron, 3.7 million tons of converter steel and more than 5 million tons of rolled metal. (Ukrainian metal)
