Pobuzhye Ferronickel Plant will buy anthracite coal from the South African Republic, if Ukraine experiences a sharp shortage of it.

“We have worked out this issue. If there is no way to buy anthracite coals in Ukraine, we have a plan B. Though we do try to buy coal from Ukrainian suppliers or in Kazakhstan”, said the company CEO Oleg Bespalov.

According to him, to buy coal from SAR it is necessary to submit a request in advance (2-3 months), to receive some 60-65 thousand tons.

“There is a long queue of major companies in SAR. We have to wait for 3 months, but we don’t know what happens in 3 months”, he added.

“We stock some 580 tons of coal, that’s 10 days of work. But we can also work with power-generating coal”, he said.

PFK needs about 15-20 thousand tons of power-generating coal and 1.5 thousand tons of anthracite coal per month. (Ukrainian metal)
