The representative of the Opposition block Vladimir Gusak has addressed the minister of energy and coal industry Igor Nasalik, asking him to explain the situation with miners not receiving salary.

“To understand the problems of the coal industry, I will give you an example. Debts for electricity amount to 10 billion UAH. So there is no way to go on mining coal. On the other hand, if we sell all the coal that we produce, we will get 230 million UAH, while the debt to miners is 450 million”, said the minister.

On the Miners day all the debts will be cleared.

“But we have worked out a program to shut down 11-13 mines. The state will retain some 7 prospective mines, and all the others will be privatized”, Nasalik added. (Ukrainian metal)
