In May metal companies didn’t receive 79 thousand tons of scrap, according to the state enterprise Ukrpromvneshexpertisa.
“Despite the decree prohibiting scrap export, the market was 79 thousand tons short. This forced metal companies to import raw materials (6 thousand tons of scrap and 18 thousand tons of hot-briquetted iron) and use too much pig iron”, said the enterprise.
May saw the maximum scrap exports this year, which totaled 113 thousand tons, up by 30 thousand ton MoM, or by 37%. (Ukrainian metal)
