The newly appointed minister of energy and coal industry Igor Nasalik has promised to visit Novovolynsk as he intends to keep the coal industry in the region.

He also believes the coal industry needs a major reformatting, and he is not interested in closing down Novovolynsk mines, as his predecessor Vladimir Demchyshin wanted. Instead he plans to keep all the operating mines and finish the construction of Novovolynskaya mine #10. (Ukrainian metal)
