Interpipe has for the first time officially registered its trademark with the UAE Ministry of economy. According to the company statement, this is the first action in the struggle with fake tubes in the region.
“Interpipe has been supplying steel to the UAE market for over 10 years and holds leading positions on the local market of steel pipes. Our products are used in construction and infrastructure projects, and could be found in every third building in the UAE. The region takes up some 16% of our sales”, said the company press service.
“We are unsure of the volume of fake products in the UAE. But they still pose a competition not only for the steel industry, but for the whole construction business, as the uncertified steel cannot guarantee the strength and durability”, added Andrei Burtsev, the Interpipe MENA steel pipe sales vice-president.
