The Ministry of economic development and trade wasn’t able to come to terms with metal companies as to scrap procurement and export in 2016.
This year metal companies plan to produce 29.6 million tons of steel. For this they need 5.6 million tons of scrap.
“But we believe this year will see 23-24 million tons of steel, on the level of last year. And scrap-procuring companies could supply some 3-3.5 million tons of scrap to the local market and export 1 million tons”, said Euro-Metal Invest deputy CEO Valery Katunin.
The parties have made their suggestions, but no decisions have been taken. (Ukrainian metal)
