Coking coal deliveries from Russia stopped several days ago, said Metinvest CEO Yuri Ryzhenkov.

“The problem is quite obvious. Normally we import 50-60% of our coking coal demands from Russia and the anti-terrorist operation zone”, he said.

But there are alternative sources of coal – Australia, USA and Canada.

“At the same time there are coal import limitations at our sea ports, as well as the increase in transportation price. This results in our charge getting more expensive. We become uncompetitive and decrease our output”, he added. (Ukrainian metal)
