Stepnaya mine, a part of DTEK Pervomayskoye Mine Group, has introduced a new technique of safe transportation of the rock with the help of hanging diesel-hydraulic engines and containers with bottom offloading. The trial samples of containers have been designed and produced at Ferrit (Czech republic).

The hanging single rail equipment for people and materials transportation has been used at Stepnaya since 2011. But the rock transportation was carried out traditionally – by ground electric locomotives, as is done all over the world.

The new equipment is being tested at the mine, but the management already plans to substitute the old technology with the new one.

In 2015 DTEK Pervomayskoye Mine Group plans to mine 3.2 million tons of coal. (Ukrainian metal)
