Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works has developed the techniques of 65G rolled plate (6-10 mm thickness) production.
According to the company CEO Yuri Zinchenko, this steel grade is beyond the converter shop assortment. Rolled slabs for production were provided by Azovstal.
“In just one week we rolled about 500 tons. We didn’t lose in quality and developed a new kind of products, demanded on the market”, said he.
The works has already received the order for new products.
Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works produces tubes and flats of carbon, low-alloy and alloyed steel. It is capable of producing 12 million tons of sinter, over 4.3 million tons of pig iron, 3.7 million tons of converter steel and 5 million tons of rolled metal per year. (Ukrainian metal)
