In January-July Ukraine mined 22806.7 thousand tons of ordinary coal, down by 50.8% YoY, or by 23516.4 thousand tons.
According to a source in the Ministry for energy and coal industry, coking coal mining in 7 months fell by 62.3% YoY (or by 7.74 million tons), to 4688.1 thousand tons, while that of power generating coal – by 46.5% YoY (or by 15.76 million tons), to 18.11 million tons.
The ministry coalmining companies produced 4.02 million tons of coal, down by 71.3% YoY, or by 10 million tons, including 1,19 million tons of coking coal (down by 67.2%, or by 2.45 million tons YoY) and 2.82 million tons of power generating coal (down by 72.7% YoY, or by 7.54 million tons).
In January-July Donetsk region mines produced 8.01 million tons of coal (down by 60.3% YoY), Lugansk mines – 2.32 million tons (down by 83.4%), Dniepropetrovsk mines – 11.08 million tons (up by 0.6%), Lviv mines – 1.23 million tons (up by 20.7%) and Volyn region mines produced 154.3 thousand tons of coal, down by 0.7% YoY.
