Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works, a part of the Industrial Union of Donbass, has put its second blast furnace into operation.
“Only one furnace was working before that. But then they put the second one into operation. So we’re preparing for the increased goods traffic”, said the Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) acting CEO Alexander Zavgorodny.
On the other hand, power-generating coal is Ukrzaliznytsia’s priority, so all other cargo will be transported after that.
“We provide coal to electric stations, you know”, he added. (Ukrainian Metal)
