In 2015 the government will close 7 of the country mines, while 5 more will be laid up.
“Out of the 35 remaining mines we will close 7. They have almost run out of resources. Such mines will be closed”, said deputy energy minister Yuriu Zyukov.
5 more mines will be laid up.
“These mines have resources – around half a billion tons. It would be unwise to shut them down now”, said Zyukov. When a private investor appears, such mines will be put into operation again.
It should be noted, that due to the military activity in the East of Ukraine Ministry for Energy and Coal says state coal companies would produce 9 million tons of coal in 2015, down two times YoY. (Ukrainian metal)
