In January-August Ukrainian metallurgical companies produced 19.69 million tons of steel, down by 11% YoY.
Rolled metal output in 8 months fell by 11%, to 17.34 million tons, while that of pig iron dropped by 6%, to 18.2 million tons, all YoY.
In August Ukraine produced 1.65 million tons of steel, down by 33.2% MoM, 1.49 million tons of rolled metal, down by 32.1% MoM, and 1.5 million tons of pig iron, down by 33.2% MoM.
It should be noted that in 2014 metal companies intended to produce 3-5% more metal products than in 2013. But due to military operations in Lugansk and Donetsk regions some companies have halted because of the lack of electricity or raw materials and coke. (Ukrainian metal)
