In January Azovstal Iron and Steel Works, a part of the Metinvest group, decreased its rolled metal output by 18.6%, to 306 thousand tons, as compared with 2013.
The works dropped its steel smelting by 11.3%, to 346 thousand tons, and its pig iron manufacture by 11.7%, to 298 thousand tons.
In December 2013 Azovstal produced 314 thousand tons of rolled metal, 333 thousand tons of steel and 286 thousand tons of pig iron.
In January 2014 the company planned to produce 373 thousand tons of steel and 328 thousand tons of pig iron.
In February Azovstal plans to produce 360 thousand tons of steel and 309 thousand tons of pig iron.
In 2013 the worlks increased its rolled metal output by 0.4%, to 4.18 million tons, but decreased its steel production by 2.7%, to 4.46 million tons, and pig iron manufacture by 4.4%, to 3.84 million tons, as compared with 2012. (Ukrainian metal)
