Ukrainian steelmaker Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works, a subsidiary of the Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass, has announced that in May it plans to increase its crude steel production by 20-21% compared to April to 400,000 tons and to raise its production of steel products by 21-22% MoM to around 370,000 tons, including 200,000 tons of slabs and around 105,000 tons of flat steel products.

In January-April Alchevsk produced 1.4 million tons of crude steel, up by 14% compared to the same period of 2012, and 1.3 million tons of steel products, up by 16% YoY. (SteelGuru)
