In May Ukraine’s crude steel production will reach 2.97 million tons, up by 2.2% compared to March.
Pig iron output in Ukraine will total 2.54 million tons in May, up by 2.7%, while production of rolled steel in the given month is expected to reach 2.6 million tons, up by 3.1%, both compared to March.
In the first three months of the current year Ukraine registered a 12% decrease in its finished steel product output to 7.259 million tons, a 5% decrease in its crude steel output to 8.190 million tons, but a 100% rise in its pig iron production to 7.120 million tons.
In March alone Ukraine produced 2.907 million tons of crude steel, up by 18%, 2.473 million tons of pig iron, up by 13.8%, and 2.521 million tons of rolled steel, up by 14.6% MoM.
In April Ukrainian companies plan to produce 2.880 million tons of crude steel, 2,460 million tons of pig iron and 2,580 million tons of rolled steel. (SteelOrbis)
