Ukraine boosted its production of crude steel by 5.7% to 35.3 million tons in 2011. Ukraine is the world’s eighth largest steel producer. The world crude steel production reached 1.527 billion tones in 2011 increasing by 6.8% YoY.
Ukraine produced 33.5 million tons of steel in 2010, a 12.4% increase from 2009. (Unian.net)
