According to the preliminary data, in the first nine months of 2011 Ukraine’s finished steel product output was up by 5.8% YoY to 22.806 million tons, crude steel product output increased by 8.1% to 26.053 million tons and pig iron production went up by 6% to 21.511 million tons.
The country’s production of metallurgical coke went up by 6.8% YoY to 14.653 million tons during the first nine months of 2011. In January to September Ukraine produced 49.044 million tons of iron ore concentrate and 59.437 million tons of iron ore, up by 2.4% YoY and 2.7% YoY respectively.
In September alone Ukraine produced 2.472 million tons of finished steel products, down by 2% MoM, 2.901 million tons of crude steel, down by 3% MoM, 2.404 million tons of pig iron, down by 5% MoM, and 1.626 million tons of metallurgical coke, down by 2% MoM. (SteelOrbis)
