According to the preliminary data, Ukraine’s crude steel production in the first 5 months of this year reached 14.691 million tons, up by 5.8% on the corresponding period of last year.
In addition, Ukrainian output of finished steel in the given period rose by 9.2% to 13.028 million tons while production of cast iron went up by 1% to 11.969 million tons both on YoY basis.
In its iron ore segment in January to May Ukraine produced 32.543 million tons of iron ore and 26.931 million tons of iron ore concentrate, up by 2.7% and by 2.6% respectively compared to the same period of last year. (SteelOrbis)
