According to the Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom, in March Ukraine’s average daily pig iron output continued its positive trend seeing an increase of 2.3% MoM from 78,800 tons to 81,100 tons.

In the first 10 days of April, Ukraine’s average daily steel output saw a decrease due to the scheduled preventive and capital repair of steelmaking units carried out by steel producers, as well as due to the decrease of steel demand and prices. The average daily crude steel output for the period in question decreased to 97,100 tons, the average daily pig iron output went down to 77,200 tons, while the average daily output figure for rolled steel products dropped to 83,700 tons.
According to the Metallurgprom data, in Ukraine 28 of the country’s 36 blast furnaces, 18 of its 21 converters, 16 of its 30 open hearth furnaces and 7 of its 15 electric furnaces were operating as of April 12. (SteelOrbis)
