The RBC Ukraine information agency reported that in the first nine months of this year Ukraine’s steel product exports to Egypt declined by 34.5% YoY from 1.139 million tons to 746,000 tons, valued at $361 million, down by 7.2% YoY.
Specifically, during the period in question, Ukraine’s exports to Egypt of semi-efinished steel products went down by about 35% YoY from 773,000 tons to 503,000 tons, valued at $227, up from $255 million in January to September 2009. Meanwhile, in the given period, Ukraine’s exports of flat rolled steel products increased in value from $44 million to $48 million, while its exports of rebar rose in value to $52 million from $31 million.
