According to the Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom, in September Ukraine’s average daily pig iron output continued its positive trend which started in August registering an increase of 6.55% MoM or 4,600 tons, to 74,800 tons.
In the first 11 days of October the country’s average daily pig iron output increased further to 78,100 tons.
According to Metallurgprom data, as of October 1st five of Ukraine’s 36 operating blast furnaces were idle, while two of the country’s 21 converters, 15 of its 35 open-hearth furnaces and eight of its 15 electric furnaces also continued to stand idle. (SteelOrbis)
