According to the preliminary assessment, the Ukrainian mills increased steel output to 2.6 million tons in August, up by 12% as compared to July.
The highest growth was at the production sites that were under pressure in the last months due to the change of owners and lack of raw materials.
Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works added more than 80% to its July output and produced 225,000 tons of steel.
Dnepropetrovsk Iron and Steel Works named after Petrovsky respectively added 76% to reach 70,000 tons.
Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works increased its output by 32% to 485,000 tons.
Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F. Dzerzhinsky increased its output by 23% to reach 185,000 tons.
More “stable” Azovstal and Yenakievo Iron and Steel Works also added 7% and 9%, and worked with load of 435,000 tons and 225,000 tons. (SteelPrices-Europe)
