It is reported that Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works and Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F Dzerzhinsky the steelmaking subsidiaries of the Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass have issued their production results for the first seven months of the current year.
Accordingly, in January to July 2010 Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works saw its crude steel production decline by 15.4%YoY to 1.762 million tonnes, finished steel products output drop by 14% YoY to 1.651 million tonnes, pig iron production fall by 16.7% to 1.567 million tonnes while its agglomerate production increased by 0.2% YoY to 2.536 million tonnes.
In July this year Alchevsk produced 137,000 tonnes of crude steel, 124,000 tonnes of finished steel products, 120,000 tonnes of pig iron, and 273,000 tonnes of agglomerate. Meanwhile, during January to July 2010, DMKD crude steel production down by 23%YoY to 1.585 million tonnes, finished steel product output down by 22.3%YoY to 1.518 million tonnes, pig iron production down by 20.5%YoY to 1.53 million tonnes and agglomerate output down by 11.6%YoY to 2.486 million tonnes.
In July, DMKD produced 134,000 tonnes of crude steel, 151,000 tonnes of finished steel products, 120,000 tonnes of pig iron, and 258,000 tonnes of agglomerate. (Steelorbis.com)
