Interfax quoted the Dnipropetrovsk based Metallurgprom association said, Ukraine steel industry boosted finished roll output 17% YoY in January to June to 14.53 million tons.
Crude steel production jumped 18% to 16.34 million tons and pig iron grew 16% to 13.858 million tons.
The country produced 775,000 tons of steel pipes, up by 5% YoY. Ukrainian coke production grew by 12% to 9.281 million tons and hardware was up by 30% to 131,000 tons. Scrap metal deliveries to Ukrainian steel mills rose by 38% to 2.674 million tons.
Ukraine reduced finished roll output by 15% in 2009 to 26.888 million tons. Crude steel production plummeted by 20% to 29.757 million tons and pig iron fell by 17% to 25.675 million tons. (Interfax)
