According to the data for the first quarter of 2010, Ukrainian exports of steel pipes decreased by 22.7% YoY to 239,190 tons and its semi-finished steel product exports dropped by 10.9% YoY to about 2.623 million tons.
In January to March this year the country’s exports of flat rolled steel increased by 8.3% YoY to 1.543 million tons and its exports of long steel went up by 43.3% YoY to 1.483 million tons. In addition, in Q1 2010, Ukraine registered an 18.4% increase in its pig iron exports to 356,170 tons, an up by 84% in its coke exports to 311,920 tons, and a 5.1% growth in its scrap exports to 94,280 tons all compared to Q1 2009.
