It is reported that between March 12th and 15th price of billets from Ukrainian suppliers has taken more than $20 per ton, jumping from a sale price of $550 per ton CFR FO one main Italian port to $570 per ton.
Considering freight component of $30-35 per ton for orders of 5,000 tons each, the selling price FOB ST Black Sea seems to have reached at least $530 per ton.
It seems that market is still bullish and therefore that price could further go up, also due to a relative scarcity of available quantities and prospected productions.
At the same time also steel-making pig iron has seen a dramatic price increase at levels above $500 per ton CFR FO, with target of $550 per ton said to be soon reached. (Steelprices-europe.com)
