The Ukrainian steel producer Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works the subsidiary of the Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass, has issued its preliminary results for 2009.
Accordingly, in 2009 Alchevsk decreased its crude steel output by 16.4% to about 3.64 million tons, its finished steel production by 15.7% to 3.32 million tons and its pig iron production by 14.3% to 3.235 million tons all compared to 2008. Meanwhile in 2009 Alchevsk’s agglomerate output registered an increase of 3% YoY to 4.525 million tons. (SteelOrbis)
