It is reported that the Ukrainian steelmaker Zaporizhstal plans in December of the current year to start cold testing of its new pulverized coal injection plant.
As per report, total investment in the construction of the plant is set to amount to about UAH 100 million up to the end of 2009.
Zaporizhstal said in a statement that “Up to the end of the year it is planned to invest about UAH 100 million and in December to start the cold testing of the PCI plant. In the H1 of 2009 Zaporizhstal invested UAH 57 million in the construction of the plant.”
The PCI plant is to be launched firstly at Zaporizhstal blast furnace No. 2 which is located closer to the plant and can more easily be changed to the new technology. (SteelOrbis)
