In January-June Ukrainian companies exported 10.2 million tons of ferrous metals worth $4.2 billion, up by 26.7% and down by 42.1% YoY respectively.
The main exports went to the Near East (39%) and the EU (31%).
Among the eastern countries the main consumers of Ukrainian metal were Turkey and Lebanon.
On the CIS markets Ukrainian exporters lost 44% of their 2014 positions. Exports to the CIS countries totaled 1 million tons worth $0.5 billion, down almost twice and 2.2 times YoY respectively.
Russia, in particular, imported only 639 thousand tons of ferrous metals, down by 52% YoY.
Despite the exports fall, African countries remain a prospective market for Ukrainian metals. Ferrous metals exports share there reached 13% against 10% in 2014.
