The prosecutors of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District have checked the compliance with the environment legislation by Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Works. As a result, multiple violations have been found. In particular, ChEMK pollutes the Makar-Ruz and Yengai rivers, stores wastes, and violates fire and industrial safety. On September 27 the first and second busbar systems of the Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Works power substation were shut down. According to the Ministry of Energy, the works was cut off grid.
