In February Ukraine exported $179.26 million worth of semi-finished steel products, while imports reached $1.27 million.
After the news of the rebar prices fall at Turkish ports and due to the low demand in February 15-19, semi-finished products prices fell by $5-7 per ton and now don’t exceed $260 pet ton CIF. Some manufacturers have decreased their prices for late February deliveries to $257 per ton CIF.
In January Ukraine exported $123.93 million worth of steel semi-finished products, with imports on the level of $0.78 million.
In 2015 Ukraine exported $2542.03 million worth of steel semi-finished products, while imports reached $13.33 million.
In November Ukraine exported $200.18 million worth of steel semi-finished products, while imports totaled $2.16 million.
For the past ten years Ukraine has been #2 steel ingots and semi-finished products exporter, according to WorldSteel, #1 being Russia.
In January-October Ukraine exported 6.19 million tons of carbon steel semi-finished products worth $2.98 billion, down by 22.2% and 45% YoY respectively.
