In July, Ukraine exported 1.36 million tons of iron ore, down by 8.2% MoM.
According to the State Customs Service, in monetary terms exports decreased by 2.2%, to $140.5 million.
Compared with July 2022, exports decreased by 13.1% and revenue by 29.1%.
Exports are decreasing due to unfavorable market situation in the EU. In particular, weak demand for steel forces manufacturers to decrease capacities, which brings down ore consumption.
In January-July, iron ore exports totaled 9.68 million tons of iron ore valued at $1.04 billion, down by 47.6% and by 56% YoY respectively.
Slovakia was the main customer with the share of 30.6%, followed by the Czech Republic with 23.7% and Poland with 19.6%. (Ukrainian metal)
