Russian troops mobilize all men to fight against Ukraine. Now every conscription notice is another step to the complete halt of coalmining operation.
Due to the forced mobilization, Lugansk region mines are close to being shut down.
The head of Lugansk region military administration Sergey Gayday noted the mining enterprises in towns and cities captured by Russia in 2014, namely, Sorokine, Rovenki and Dovzhansk.
“Almost everyone has been sent from the mines to the front. And people understand that you can’t return from the front. There are barely enough miners to support the operation of enterprises,” he said.
Russian occupiers have also invited men from neighboring Russian territories for work.
“The situation is close to catastrophe. Yet, some say that they haven’t even started,” Gayday noted. (Ukrainian metal)
