In March, Russia produced 5.79 million tons of steel, down by 6.9% YoY. In 3 months output totaled 16.81 million tons, down by 5.3% YoY.
Ukraine, though no longer a part of CIS, increased output in March by 15%, to 1.968 million tons, with 5.507 million tons produced in 3 months, up by 4.6%.
Kazakhstan produced 360 thousand tons of steel, down by 16.7% YoY, in March and 1.045 million tons, down by 10.5% YoY, in Q1.
Belarus in March produced 220 thousand tons of steel, up by 91.3% YoY, and 640 thousand tons in Q1, up by 32.2%.
Uzbekistan increased steel output in March by 13.2%, to 60 thousand tons, and in 3 months – by 12.9%, to 175 thousand tons.
Moldova produced 40 thousand tons of steel in March, down by 33.3% YoY, and 115 thousand tons in Q1, down by 17.3%.
All in all, in March CIS countries produced 8.438 million tons of steel, down by 1.7% YoY. In Q1 steel output totaled 24.292 million tons, down by 2.7% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)
