Avdiivka Coke and Chemical Works, the largest by-product chemical plant in Europe, is worried about the plans of Ukrzaliznytsia to increase railroad transportation tariffs by 22.5%, as this will increase the prime cost of the products and could affect output level.
“I’ve learned of the Infrastructure Ministry decree on another railroad tariff increase by 22.5%. This raises surprise and a whole number of questions. In particular, why does Ukrzaliznytsia so aggressively increase tariffs, when it still does not solve its own problems?” the company CEO Musa Magomedov wrote on his Facebook page.
“New tariffs will affect AKKhZ, as well as any other company. As we are located near to the military operations zone, we only started increasing output in May – from 140 thousand tons to 250 thousand tons per month. It cost us dearly. So we would like Ukrzaliznytsia to keep the lowest rates possible while increasing transportation volumes”, he added. (Ukrainian metal)
