It will be impossible to resume operation of Avdiivka Coke and Chemical Works when the war is over due to the destruction done by the Russian shelling.
“The works is under control of the Ukrainian army. It has been shelled by Russia numerous times. They fired at it from everything they had. I think, it will be impossible to relaunch it,” Metinvest CEO Yuri Ryzhenkov has said.
At the same time, it might not be necessary to restore it in the state it was before the invasion.
Azovstal and Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works were the largest customers of Avdiivka Coke.
“There are no talks about their restoration until we return to Mariupol,” Ryzhenkov added.
The group intends to restore Azovstal, but it will be a different works. (Ukrainian metal)
