To prepare the heating generation for the summer peaks of consumption and the coming heating season, since the beginning of the year, DTEK Energo has commissioned seven new coalfaces, including two in May.
“In summer and during heating seasons the pressure on heating generation traditionally grows, so we maintain the corresponding rhythm of work. Extraction of coal for heating generation needs detailed planning and succession at each stage, in particular, the launch of new coalfaces,” the DTEK Energo CEO Oleksandr Fomenko has said.
Last year, the company’s investments in coal extraction amounted to 7.5 billion UAH, while in 2022-2024 – 18 billion UAH.
The funds were used on repair, equipping coalfaces, purchase of mining machinery and projects to support manufacturing capacities. (Ukrainian metal)
