The salary debts to employees of coal enterprises in Donetsk and Lugansk regions, which have been shut down due to the military activity, amount to around 500 million UAH.
“In late last year we were able to considerably decrease the indebtedness,” the Energy Minister German Galuschenko has said.
The ministry is working on employing miners from the east at enterprises in the west, which suffer from the lack of personnel.
“It is very important not to lose people, because these are specialists with corresponding experience. We are trying to create a whole program for the people from the east to relocate to the western enterprises and get jobs, and after that solve the debt problem,” he added.
Due to the Russian invasion, coal enterprises of Donetsk and Liugansk regions have suspended operation, but have not been liquidated. (Ukrainian metal)
