Uzbekistan’s Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company (NMMC) has successfully implemented the ISO 37001:2016 international standard, strengthening its commitment to corporate transparency and global anti-corruption efforts.
According to the company, in line with its ongoing efforts to align its management systems with international standards, NMMC underwent a rigorous external audit conducted by CERT International. The audit assessed the company’s anti-corruption management processes and mechanisms, confirming their compliance with the requirements of the ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System standard.
ISO 37001:2016 is designed to help an organization to implement and maintain a proactive anti-bribery system. Its flagship guidance presents globally recognized best practices to prevent detect, and deal with bribery at all levels of an organization.
CERT International awarded the ISO 37001:2016 certification to NMMC Chairman and General Director Kuvandik Sanakulov at the ceremony attended by the NMMC’s senior management and staff.
“At NMMC, our Compliance Service has a broad remit to identify and prevent corruption offenses, address the causes and conditions that lead to such violations, conduct preventive training for employees, monitor procurement activities, carry out internal investigations, obtain international certifications, and improve staff qualifications. We are determined to effectively continue this work, which has already enabled us to receive the ISO 37001:2016 certification today,” the head of the compliance service at NMMC Rustam Avezov said.
