Ukrzaliznytsia JSC promises to take the decision to unblock or cancel scrap metal auctions in the Prozorro.Sales system until the end of April.
According to Yevhen Shramko, an Ukrzaliznytsia board member, these auctions were held before the Russian full-scale invasion.
“We have already initiated analyses of the issue,” he added.
Nataliya Sidoruk, GR-director of Interpipe, said that Ukrzaliznytsia hadn’t been able to solve the problem for more than 2 years.
“Back in mid-February 2022, one of our enterprises – Dniprostal – was declared the winner of several auctions. We had to receive around 17 thousand tons of scrap from Ukrzaliznytsia, but then the full-scale invasion began. For a year and a half we have been asking Ukrzaliznytsia either to sign the agreement or cancel the auctions. In January, we signed these agreements on our behalf and sent them to Ukrzaliznytsia. But the issue is still unsolved, as Ukrzaliznytsia doesn’t want to sign them,” she said. (Ukrainian metal)
